SELF COACHING FOR DISPUTE RESOLVERS

VIKRAM KAPOOR

This discussion will focus on the art of self-coaching for dispute resolvers.  Do you coach yourself?  Because some of the best leaders and coaches in the world coach themselves every day.  Come learn some of the latest research out there on how you can more effectively shift perspective, overcome fears, bounce back from setbacks, and set better goals by using a self-coaching approach based in humble self-inquiry and compassionate self-listening.  As we get better at coaching ourselves, our capacity to coach others naturally grows, and this gives us an important competitive advantage in the great work that we do.

VIKRAM ("VIK") KAPOOR is a certified coach, trainer, mediator and facilitator with deep expertise in multicultural communication, intergenerational collaboration, and psychological safety on teams.  He is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) recognized by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and has a client list that has included rising stars at the United Nations, U.S. Special Forces, Silicon Valley's household brands, and a range of top advisory, legal, and financial services companies around the world.

A sought-after speaker and trainer, Vik weaves together cutting-edge science and practical wisdom to empower those who seek support around goal-setting, leading with values, collaborating in the workplace, bouncing back from setbacks, and galvanizing teams behind a common purpose.  He has prior conflict resolution experience at the United Nations and within the US Federal Government, and he was previously a leader with the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution and Mediators Beyond Borders.

In addition to his own proprietary models for self-care and finding purpose in life, Vik is skilled in Appreciative Inquiry, Clifton Strengthsfinder, Kilmann Conflict Inventory, DiSC Profile, VIA Character Strengths, Qualitative 360 Assessments, Gallup Q-12, Cinnie Noble's CINERGY model, and Jack Philips' Return on Investment (ROI) model.

Vik is also the author of First Serve Yourself, an Amazon #1 bestselling book on self-coaching that won a Living Now medal ("Books for Better Living"). He has a law degree from Georgetown University and advanced training in global mental health from Harvard Medical School.
