Monthly NYC-DR Roundtable Breakfast
It is with deep regret that we share the very sad news from Burundi that Adrien Niyongabo has had to postpone his US speaking tour to attend to his terminally ill mother's needs. We extend our heartfelt thoughts to him, and look forward to his rescheduled trip and having him speak to us in the future. In keeping with the spirit of commemorating 9/11, this Breakfast will keep that focus.
September 11, 2001 forever changed the New York City Dispute Resolution community of practitioners and scholars. On that historic morning of 9/11, conflict resolvers in the New York City area were unable to communicate with each other. Like those in many other fields, they questioned where conflict resolution fit in. Over the past ten years, much has transpired. The tenth anniversary of 9/11 is a major milestone for conflict resolvers everywhere, but especially for those in New York City who experienced firsthand the actions that shook the world.
For this Thursday's breakfast, we will take stock of conflict resolution in the city that never sleeps, the city that is often referred to as the capital of the world. Conflict resolvers will reflect on the past ten years and take stock of where we were, where we are, and where we are headed.
