Dr. Manousso's baccalaureate was from Brown University, Master of Public Health, from the University of Texas School of Public Health, doctorate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University, and attended South Texas College of Law.

Her PodCast and YouTube interviews are under Manousso Musing are 23 minutes with the leaders, theorists, and Titans of Mediation.

Dr. Manousso is a guest lecturer at the Brown University School of Public Health and was adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas in Houston for ten years training foreign service officers in global conflict management.

She trains and lectures worldwide on Best Practice branded as HearT. Mediators are trained to address ethical standards as set forth by worldwide organizations, while empowering the parties and seeking their direct communication with a skilled mediator.

Dr. Barbara Sunderland Manousso, a Texas Distinguished Credentialed Mediator and Certified Collaborative Law Mediator, received the "Adams Award" from the Texas Association of Mediators 2019, "A Woman Who Means Business" from the Houston Business Journal 2019, "Houston Woman's Magazine" One of Houston's Most Influential Women in Houston", a "Lifetime Achievement Award 2018" from ACR Houston. In Egypt, she was recognized by the governor of Suez Canal. In 1972, she was recognized by the White Houston as Rhode Island's Outstanding Small Business. She was the 2016 to 2018 ACR International Section Chair for Education, Research, and Training; Past-president of the Association of Conflict Resolution Houston chapter and current board member; served as co-chair of the ACR Workplace section; and served on the national ACR Standards Committee for Elder Care Mediation Training. She was the 2011-2015 co-chair of the ACR Healthcare Section. She has been in practice since 1993 as a mediator, arbitrator, mediator trainer, conflict resolution coach, author, and lecturer, especially in the specialty of elder and adult mediation. She is also a member of the World Symposium on Elder Mediation, Fellow in the World Mediation Organization, Association for Family Conciliation Courts, and Practitioners of Family Mediators.
She serves on the Houston board of Labor Employment Relations Association (LERA), ACR Houston, Brown University Alumni Association, and other leadership roles nationally and internationally.

She has authored a chapter in Organizational Mediation, edited by LaVena Wilkins. Her book Critical Race Theory and Important Facts of Elder Mediation will be published in spring of 2023 and other textbook chapters on communication and non-profit conflict management. She has written the forward for many books and enjoys being a reader for young talented writers.
